II Sergio Porto School of Applied Optics
The "II 'Sergio Porto' School of Applied Optics" is an initiative of the students belonging to the UNICAMP Student
Chapter and it is being carried out under the support of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and UNICAMP.
The School is being held in introductory and advanced courses on the most diverse subjects involving Optics,
aiming graduate and undergraduate students that are about to finish their courses. The School's name pays homage
to the Brazilian physicist Sergio Porto who contributed for the progress of science and technology in the Country and
actively helped in the foundation and consolidation of the Department of Quantum Electronics of the Institute of Physics
Gleb Wataghin.
Sergio Porto was one of the pioneers to use laser radiation in medicine back to 1962. We wait for your
