Presentation
The International Workshop on Unconventional Superconductors will take place in a hotel located inside the campus of the
University of Campinas, in the pleasant city of Campinas, about 98 km far from São Paulo city, 510 km far from Rio de Janeiro city, and 920 km far from Brasilia - DF. Campinas metropolitan area is considered to be the third most important commercial and industrial region of Brazil, after São Paulo and Rio.This Workshop is a satellite event of the
M2S-HTSC-VII conference that will be held in Rio, during May 25-30, 2003.For those coming from abroad, willing to participate in both events, we suggest to book a flight to Rio with a stop in São Paulo at the Guarulhos Airport (GRU).
Since the workshop will start at 8:00 am of May 21 (Wed) we recommend the participants to arrive at GRU by the morning of May 20.
We will provide Van transportation to the hotel and back to the airport; each ride taking about one and a half-hour by a highway.
The Workshop will finish by the evening of May 23 (Friday). Therefore the participants could fly to Rio by the afternoon on May 24 or by the morning on May 25. There are several daily flight options from São Paulo to Rio.
We invite all of you, who are working with any experimental or theoretical aspects of unconventional superconductivity, to submit an Abstract to this Workshop until March 06, 2003.
Scope and Plan
We intend to emphasize relevant topics related to superconductivity with pairing symmetry different from a conventional s-wave form, from both experimental and theoretical viewpoints.
Mainly, we expect to receive contributions concerned with materials, whose superconducting and normal state properties cannot be understood within the framework of conventional models.
Due to organizational reasons the number of participants in this Workshop is limited to 60. We plan to have 18 extended talks of 40 minutes and 42 regular talks of 20 minutes.
Authors are asked to indicate their preference between the two types of talks in their
Abstracts
Please submit your Abstract page before March 06, 2003, together with your
Pre-Registration form. This form has to be filled by the presenting (and corresponding) author. Send it with your Abstract page by e-mail to Y. Kopelevich and O. F. de Lima or Fax the two pages to us trough 0055-19-32893137 or 0055-19-37885343.Abstracts must be a Word file (.doc) or a PDF file, written in English, formatted in one page of paper size A4 (210 x 297 mm), using font Times New Roman, size 12. The following blank margins must be observed: top = 30 mm, bottom = 30 mm, left = 25 mm, right = 25 mm.
The Abstract title must be in bold capital letters of size 12. Below that follow the line(s) with author's names, followed by new line(s) of the author's affiliations. Please underline the presenting author's name, leave a single space line between the title and author's lines, and center all these head lines. Leave also one single space line before starting the body of your abstract.
To help you preparing your one page Abstract we are attaching an
Abstract Model.PDF. If you still have any questions or comments please contact us.Proceedings
The Workshop Proceedings will be published as a special volume of
Brazilian Journal of Physics. Papers will be peer-reviewed before being accepted for publication.Authors are asked to submit three hard-copy versions of their paper not later than May 21, 2003 (at the Workshop site).
For further information concerning the manuscript preparation please see the
Instructions to Authors.Hotel Reservation
We plan to have all participants lodged in an in-campus hotel ('Casa do Prof. Visitante'). We have already booked rooms for 60 people, distributed in 20 single rooms and 20 double rooms. These numbers are within the hotel availability limit for that period of the year.
Room registration will be made after receiving the pre-registration order together with Abstract submission.
Hotel daily rates, including breakfast, are:
single room: US$ 30.00
double room: US$ 40.00
Registration
All participants must be registered until the beginning of the Workshop, by the evening of May 20, 2003. Please fill the
Registration Form.PDF and Fax it to 0055-19-32893137, as soon as possible.Early Registration Fee is offered by a lower amount of US$ 150.00, until April 10. After this deadline the Registration Fee will be US$ 200.00.
The Registration Fee covers attendance to all Technical Sessions, Program and Abstracts Booklet, Welcome Reception, Coffee Breaks and one Cultural Activity.
